Terms and Conditions of Tenancy
Tenancy Agreements
If you are a Waltham Forest Council tenant
this information affects you.
During November 2008, Ascham Homes consulted all council tenants on
Introductory Tenancies, Demoted Tenancies and the revised tenancy
terms and conditions. After taking all comments in to
consideration, Waltham Forest Council has agreed to implement these
measures to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Most tenants would have received the Notice of Variation during
March/April 2009, detailing the revised tenancy terms and
conditions. The new Introductory Tenancies and Demoted Tenancies
with the revised clauses will come into effect from 4 May
2009.
Waltham Forest Council wants to make the borough a safer place to
live and improve the general quality of life for residents. These
changes are being implemented to give residents increased support
and improved services.
It is important that all council tenants keep to the Tenancy Terms
and Conditions. The new tenancy schemes will help Waltham Forest
Council get this message across and enable swift action to be taken
to end tenancies, where the conditions are broken.

The Good Neighbour Agreement
The 'Good Neighbour Agreement' is another tool to strengthen Ascham
Homes’ commitment to our residents in tackling antisocial
behaviour. We want to encourage residents to share the

sets out the rights and responsibilities of residents living in
Sheltered Accommodation.
