Our Services

Sheltered Housing

The Council has a number of sheltered housing schemes which contain accommodation which is self-contained homes. Primarily sheltered housing is set up to cater for older people providing care and support to tenants who find living alone difficult. However in recent years, younger tenants fulfilling the entry requirements have been offered sheltered housing.

Each sheltered housing scheme is managed by a Scheme Managers. They provide essential support to tenants by regularly contacting them and keeping in touch with families and support services, they do not provide medical or nursing assistance to tenants but can help with linking the relevant support needed by elder residents.
