Estate Recycling
Ascham Homes supports recycling. Where
there are space estates and blocks will be supplied with recycling
bins, provided by Waltham Forest. The recycling banks will be
either for paper waste or mixed for tins cans, aerosols, plastics
and mixed glass.
Residents are encouraged to recycle and every
effort is made by the council to ensure the means are available to
do so. Mixed recycling bins are emptied on a regular basis. If you
are unsure about the different materials which are possible for
recycling or if you find a bin that is full before its collection
day, please tell us so we know to empty it sooner.

The mixed recycling bins are clearly labelled
and can be used for the following materials;
- Paper
- Cardboard (flattened)
- Plastic bottles (rinsed and squashed, no lids)
- Tins, cans and foil (rinsed and squashed)
- Glass bottles and jars (rinsed, no lids)
Please do not use the mixed recycling bins for
any other materials, such as other plastics cartons. Please do not
put your recycling in plastic bags.

Some blocks of flats in the borough currently
have recycling bins for separated materials, such as paper, glass
and tins. These bins will gradually be replaced by bins for mixed
recycling.
If you live in a converted house or a building
with a doorstep to the street with frontage to store the
containers, your property may be included in the recycling
scheme.
