The Estate Stakeholder Scheme
If you are a Waltham Forest resident, living in a property
managed by Ascham Homes and have an interest in the services being
delivered to your estate but are unable to get the support to set
up a Tenants and Residents Association (TRA), you can become an
Estate Stakeholder.
By becoming an Estate Stakeholder you are making a positive
decision to work in partnership with us to improve your local
estate and give your estate a voice.
The role of an Estate Stakeholder
An Estate Stakeholder monitors the cleanliness of communal areas
in their block (such as stairs, walls and ceilings), repairs and
grounds maintenance on their estate. This is done through
accompanied Estate Inspections once a month with their Estate
Supervisor or carrying out unaccompanied inspections, as often as
they like. They will act as the main representative for their
estate, when liaising with Ascham Homes, where there is no
recognised TRA.
Estate Inspections are an essential way of monitoring and
improving standards delivered to estates and provide an opportunity
for residents to participate in the work that we do.
The benefits of Estate Inspections
- Cleaner and safer estates
- An easier way to report the concerns and local interests of
residents on the estates
- Helping to improve housing conditions and the local
environment
- Obtaining feedback on estate inspection results
- Work independently from, yet constructively with staff to build
a good working relationship and promote community involvement
- on the estate
Estate Stakeholder Forums
Ascham Homes host 2 Estate Stakeholder Forums per year. These
are held to increase the number of estate stakeholders and to give
existing estate stakeholders the opportunity to ask about any items
they would like to discuss.
This is also the opportunity for new Estate Stakeholders to come
along and officially sign up and collect their packs, which outline
what Ascham Homes will do to support estate stakeholders. The
forums are a useful way of identifying important issues and forming
strategies to resolve them. They are also a great way of
sharing and discussing ideas on estate inspections.
You can find out when the next Estate
Stakeholder Forum takes place on our events calendar.
