What is a Start-Up
Sustainability Grant:
Residents looking to set up a Tenants & Residents
Association (TRA) are financially supported during their first
year. The Start-Up Sustainability Grant is for new TRA's to
get started and establish themselves. During this time,
we will facilitate meetings, training and publicity
information.
Once Associations are established they are
required to comply with our requirements as laid down in the
Setting Up and Running a TRA booklet. A start up grant of
£250.00 is given to the TRA.
What is a Sustainability Grant:
Where an association has been running for more than a
year, further financial grant funding will provided to the
Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) to cover the day-to-day
running. This is based on a allowance for the number of
properties covered by the TRA. A maximum of £700.00 can be
applied at any one time. However, to find out how much funds
the TRA will be granted is based on the following formula:

Grant funding under both options is meant to
support the TRA with their administrative cost such as:
- Telephone call costs
- Stamps
- Stationary
- Postage
- Photocopying
- Out of pocket expenses
- Hall hire
- Refreshments
- IT equipment including Internet and emailing facilities
and
We will also provide all new TRA's with a
basic stationary pack which will include headed paper, stamps,
envelops, pens, pencils, lined pads. TRA executive committee
members will also be provided with photo ID cards to allow them to
carry out their everyday business on their local street / estate
and within Ascham Homes and LBWF offices.
Funded TRA’s are required to have a treasurer
who keeps a record of all income and expenditure to the TRA.
The accounts are audited by our Resident Involvement
team every quarter.

Chair)
