Neighbour Disputes
If you are experiencing problems with your neighbours, follow
the steps below:

Before you take any action, please
remember that:
- there are often two sides to every issue or
situation
- your neighbour may not be aware that they are
causing a nuisance
- different people can live with different
levels of noise or nuisance
- trying to live together in reasonable peace
may be better than a long-term feud
These are some of the possible steps we
suggest you take if you are experiencing anti-social behaviour.
This process is flexible, and your Tenancy Services Officer will do
all they can to resolve a situation.
If you have been getting on with your
neighbour reasonably well, try a friendly approach to discuss the
problem. It is our aim to help you, as a council tenant or
leaseholder to resolve any complaint of anti-social behaviour. If
you feel that you are unable, or that it would be unwise to speak
directly with your neighbour, we strongly advise that you contact
us or the police if there is a risk of violence:
In all emergency situations please
call 999
To help the police, tell them that you want to

it

hair, distinguishing marks, ethnicity, clothing, nicknames
- Describe what the perpetrator/s is/are doing or has/have
done
- Date and time of the incident
- Where the incident took place
- How the incident is affecting you and others
- Any other witnesses to the incident
