Joint tenants are responsible for keeping to the conditions of their tenancy, such as paying the rent. This means that if one tenant breaks a tenancy condition can also be held responsible.

If any tenants leave the home you must tell us straight away. And if your partner or husband or wife leaves the property to move somewhere else, you must also let us know. A joint tenant is still responsible for all the tenancy conditions while they are a tenant, no matter where they are living.
