Antisocial behaviour

Antisocial behaviour is defined by law as ‘that which caused or was likely to cause alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household’. The term antisocial behaviour covers any kind of nuisance, unreasonable behaviour or harassment. We are committed to working with residents to stop harassment and other forms of antisocial behaviour.

We may take action against any tenant or leaseholder who is responsible for antisocial behaviour. This action can lead to eviction, whether you are a tenant or a leaseholder. The behaviour of your family, lodgers, tenants or your visitors can also lead to us taking action against you. Tenants or leaseholders evicted for antisocial behaviour are unlikely to be rehoused by the council.

If you experience nuisance from your neighbours, tell us about it. If they are tenants, we may be able to take action against them. If they are not tenants, we will work with you to try and stop the nuisance.
