Equality Impact Assessment
Equality impact assessments are carried out whenever there is a
significant change in the way that Ascham Homes delivers
services.
Ascham Homes carries out equality impact assessments
because:
- There is a legal requirement to do so in relation to race,
disability and gender
- They are helpful in identifying improvements to services
- They help avoid adopting harmful policies or procedures
- They help Ascham Homes to make better and more informed
decisions
- They help Ascham Homes to identify how services can be made
more accessible and appropriate
The assessment looks at all six ‘equality strands’, even if some
may seem to have more relevance to particular polices/procedures
than others. They are:
- race
- gender
- disability
- age
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation
